Criminal Defense

Attorney Vanderhorst began his training and experience in handling criminal cases in Los Angeles. He handled various misdemeanors and felony cases. Typically they were already his clients for accidents or other legal matters who got into trouble with the law.

Attorney Vanderhorst is an experienced negotiator and is usually able to resolve a case before trial. However, if the facts of your case justify a fight all the way to trial, he will be prepared to go to trial for you to defend your interest.

It is very important to remember that if a law enforcement officer or private investigator contacts you that you have the right under the California and Federal Constitution to remain silent and to not give any statement without your attorney being present. My advice to anyone who has been arrested or who is the focus of a criminal investigation is to not speak other than to identify themself. You must insist that you be given the opportunity to speak to an attorney. Many people call me after they have given a statement and then ask for my assistance. It is usually too late if the person has admitted to some wrongdoing or has given information that only the wrongdoer would know to the investigating officer. In such situations, the outcome of the case is almost sealed or foregone.

If you have been contacted by law enforcement or are placed under arrest by a law enforcement agency please remember your right to remain silent and your right to have an attorney present during questioning. Please do not say anything other than your name. Immediately ask to call an attorney (preferably me) at my Porterville office

(559) 781-0506 or (661) 725-0506.
